What kind of materials best absorb heat from the solar cooker?

From these items what will be the material that can absorb the most heat?

Ex. empty cardboard box with its lid, scissors, aluminum foil, tape, plastic wrap, some black garbage bags, several sheets of newspapers, and a pencil

I am not clear on how much is absorbed and released back. It is not going to be felt but those stuff do radiate back some heat during the nights.. There are literature on those topics.. If you have thermal camera then you can experiment on different stuff that absorb sun heat and radiate back after the sun is down. Thermal cameras that can be calibrated to narrow differences in temperature as well as broad differences in stages . There is only a set of color bands that indicate ranges of temperatures. It will be interesting to see how long those stuff radiates back until it is back to even with the outside temperature.

Black is best

Your black garbage bags will do the best job absorbing heat. However, they will not hold the heat so if you are using bags, just use them to wrap around your cooking pot. That way the heat transfers to the food in the pot.
