I build a very simple solar furnace that reflect sunlight through large windows to heat indoors. See for yourself .. I took picture of the furnace in the night so not to reveal too much details, but I took pics of how it is like indoors with the furnace under the sun! The furnace yields up to 4 times the concentration of sunlight more or less depending on the movement of Sun and the alignment of the furnace array at any given time.. It is a relatively safe process . The reason for 4X concentration is to increase the temperature of the reflected sunlight to around 120 degrees.. It surely feel like being under the hot desert sun in that room as the heated air flows out toward other rooms. What is also great about it is that it is a constant heat all day with intervals of about hourly realignings of the array which take a few minutes. The reflected sunlight hit the inner wall that absorb it and release back after the sun is down. There is no "smart thermostat" or any energy saving devices for that as it is free sunlight and it is left on all day! Only intermittent clouds or rainy days stops the furnace.. There is no moving parts whatsoever.. no electricity, etc.. So simple ! yet powerful that Iwould say is equivalent to a half dozen of electric room heaters .. YOu got to believe it.
