I had a meatloaf and polenta cooking in our cardboard solar oven, and then went shopping at a big box store.
Realizing about two blocks away from the house, en route, that I'd left my cell phone at home, I decided not to bother going back for it.
After spending around 30 minutes in the store, it was pouring down rain when I exited.
My partner knew I had dinner cooking, but he's nuts about sports, and the Olympics are on! I worried all the way home, wondering if I should stop at a business to see if I could use their phone to call him, or just hurry home and try to salvage the oven. (I opted for the latter, since he isn't reliable about answering the phone either.)
The sun was still shining at our house when I got home, even though the store is only about 20 minutes away. We live in the subtropics, it can rain on one side of the street and the sun shines on the other side.
Note to self, leave a post-it note on the TV for your sidekick to grab the grub & the solar oven if it starts to rain .

Typical guy, can't leave them with the responsibility of watching the cooking food ;)
...I guess you do have to worry a bit more about rain than some do...but I'm glad to see that you take advantage of your solar cooking opportunities nevertheless.
Great Story!
