One of the most exciting aspects to me about this time of year is the distinct flavors and smells of cinnamon & nutmeg. This is why I was delighted to find the recipe for these yummy baked apples which I enjoyed as a dessert. I found the recipe under the solar recipes tab on the left side of this website and followed the directions almost exactly. The apples cooked in my Sun Oven quicker than I expected. Next time I make these I think I will try not including the cornstarch the recipe called for as I wasn't so fond of the texture it gave the apples, however, the smell, flavor and the tenderness of the apples were absolutely wonderful!

One of my favorite things to cook in a solar oven, baked cinnamon apples, they really hit the spot at this time of the year.
I add corn starch to thicken the sauce, but if there are other ways to achieve the same effect without it I would love to know.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
